Our Story

Pit cooking braised meat is a time honored tradition that has been used for centuries and has been proven to be one of the safest and most delicious ways to cook and prepare meat. Because of its unique cooking process and long cooking time, ground pit cooking has become a rare delicacy that should be enjoyed when readily available.


We at Tortuga’s™ are proud to carry-on this time honored tradition and process of cooking meat in the ground and even prouder to be able to make it available for all to enjoy. Tortuga’s™ Pit Masters carry a combined 60 years of ground pit braising experience and our Executive Chef and full staff are all here to give you the best ground pit braised meat experience possible in record time for your quick enjoyment!


Tortuga’s™ offers a menu of the following meats and our Daily Special: 

Beef Brisket, Beef Ribs, Pork Butt Roast, Turkey & Chicken and we are proud to introduce our Daily Special The Ribeye Steak and Cheese Sandwich! Ribeye roast, cooked for four hours in the pit, cut thin, served on an Authentic Philly French Roll with caramelized onions, melted provolone cheese and served with a side of our homemade Au Jus Gravy Sauce made from our secret drippings recipe!  


We also offer three delicious sides, Ranchero-Style Boiled Beans, Spanish Rice, and Mama's Macaroni Salad. We also feature our “Bubby Sauces” which are created and produced exclusively for Tortuga’s by our executive chef. All our sides and sauces are made daily with the freshest ingredients.


At Tortuga’s™ although our menu is small and choices are few. We take great pride in our unique cooking style, Fall-Off-The-Bone meat and our delicious homemade sides and sauces. Our patrons will always have a pleasant and delicious food experience that will keep you coming back for more slow cooking perfection served fast.!
